Institutional accreditation.

MEAC accredits free-standing midwifery schools — independent educational entities whose primary mission is midwifery education. Institutional review covers the full scope of the school's operations.

Who qualifies

Is your school eligible for institutional accreditation?

Institutional accreditation is designed for schools that exist primarily to provide midwifery education. Unlike programmatic accreditation, it reviews the entire institution — including governance, finances, faculty, and facilities — not just a single program.

If your school is already institutionally accredited by another USDE-recognized agency, you should apply for programmatic accreditation instead.
